With the ‘appliance’ series Luuk de Haan examines the deformation and alteration created by the camera as it translates two-dimensional shapes into a three-dimensional image.
A single shot is taken from a slideshow consisting of 2 or more images which were in advance designed for this project. The camera has been moved and/or the zooming function of the lens is used in order to create the three-dimensional image.
Luuk de Haan was born in Vlaardingen, South Holland, Netherlands. He is a visual artist and sound designer. His visual art relies on the mediums of photography, drawing and digital tools to create organic, geometric abstract compositions.
